What is the Audio Fiction World Cup?

Audio Fiction World Cup - 2022 Press Release

We’re so glad you asked! The AFWC is an international circuit of festival experiences with dedicated programming for Fiction Podcasts, Actual Play Podcasts, and Actual Play Video projects. On top of each festival’s unique event, each includes awards that are decided by juries made up of relevant professionals in their field.

Each festival in our cup agrees to a Code of Ethics to guide decision making at their festivals. This allows us to ensure that each festival is creator-focused, fair, and equitable to all creators and projects.

How does the Audio Fiction World Cup work?

When a project is accepted to a festival, nominated for an award at a festival, and wins an award at a festival, that project will receive points on the Audio Fiction World Cup. Throughout the year we will publish the rankings as more festivals report their various stages. At the end of the year we will publish the final ranking for 2024 based on the decisions from the juries at each of these festivals.

If you’re looking for a new and exciting way to celebrate your work, submit to each of these festivals for the highest chance to increase your AWFC rank for 2024!

You can read a full breakdown of the methodologies and systems behind our Rankings in this article.
