What is the Web Series World Cup and how does it work?

The WSWC is a nonprofit initiative dedicated to supporting and promoting serialized short form programs.

Created in 2015 by JoΓ«l Bassaget, the WSWC collects results from partner web fests around the world and regularly publishes rankings of the most awarded web series. Each series gets points for the number of official selections, nominations, and awards they receive from our partner festivals. At the end of each season, the WSWC crowns the most awarded series. Entry into the WSWC is automatic for series; creators do not need do anything. An official selection from a partner festival enters a series into the WSWC for that calendar year.

Starting in 2026, each festival in our circuit agrees to a Code of Ethics to guide decision making at their festivals. This helps ensure that each festival is creator-focused, fair, and equitable to all creators and projects.

If you’re looking for a way to celebrate your work, submit to each of these festivals for the best chance to increase your WSWC rank!
